Prime Cache
Prime Cache is a desktop, network-attached LTO-4 appliance that makes archiving data easy. By writing data on to secure, portable and interchangeable industry-standard LTO-4 data tape cartridges using the standard TAR format, Prime Cache is the simplest way to reliably archive digital content. With the cost of an LTO-4 data tape working out at less than £0.06/€0.07 per Gigabyte (GB) Prime Cache is also an incredibly cost-effective way to archive, while the 30-year shelf-life of LTO media also makes Prime Cache one of the most secure. Writing data in the standard TAR format enables LTO media written by Prime Cache to be read by any other LTO compatible tape drive in the world without the need for any specialist back-up software or archive catalogues.
Different to other LTO devices Prime Cache plugs in to a standard Ethernet network and allows system-wide use of the archive system. Operating system independency allows Prime Cache to be deployed in to Windows, MacOS and Unix environments providing direct access to archived data from any platform with simultaneous multi-user access and volume sharing.
