| JMR Electronics, releases the SumoSATA, the first SATA JBOD Solution priced at under $2000 per Terabyte CHATSWORTH, Calif. – January 3, 2005 – JMR Electronics, a leading manufacturer of data storage solutions offering the industry's widest selection of Fibre Channel, SATA and SCSI storage systems, today announced its release of the SumoSATA JBOD SATA storage solution for all Windows operating systems with a groundbreaking price of under $2000 per Terabyte. The SumoSATA is a 6-Bay JBOD tower that runs across 6 channels for blazing speeds of over 300MB/sec. The solution comes with a proprietary PCI-X SATA adapter and a single cable which connects the unit to any Windows based server or desktop PC. The unit can hold up to 2.4TB of raw capacity using Hitachi Deskstar SATA 400GB drives. Its amazing speeds are attained through the 6 channel architecture, even though the unit uses a single cable to connect the unit, unheard of in SATA JBODs presently on the market. The SumoSATA is targeted at desktop video, audio and imaging solutions that require capacity and speed to handle the data requirements of the most demanding customers. Its low price allows customers to get the capacity they need at prices unheard of in a product that can put out over 300MB/sec per unit. Striping multiple units together can increase capacity and speeds. This unit is only available through JMR's worldwide dealer sales channel, a dedicated group of VAR's and integrators who are storage specialists. The SumoSATA includes a 6-Bay External SerialATA Desktop System with up to 2.4TB Capacity, six 3.5" SerialATA Drive Canisters which use 3.5" SerialATA Drives.
