Glyph Technologies News | Press:Glyph Fortifies Its Popular GT Series Product Line with Four New Models Anaheim, CA – (Jan 20, 2005) Glyph Technologies will be showing four new storage products from the GT-Series at Winter NAMM that offer two drives in a tabletop footprint. The new GT 060, GT 061, GT 062 and GT 060BR continue the evolution of Glyph’s very popular GT Series product line, a cross-functional line of FireWire-based storage subsystems designed for professional audio and video production.
The new products follow on the heels of Glyph’s success with the original GT 050 and 051 Series tabletops and come in various two-drive combinations of fixed and hot-swappable configurations. The GT 060 has two fixed-mount FireWire drives, each with its own FireWire 400 connection for available, redundancy and performance. Glyph designed the GT 061 and GT 062 to support GT Key hot-swappable drives, which are compatible across the entire GT Series of enclosures. - The GT 061 is a tabletop enclosure for one fixed-mount FireWire drive and one hot-swappable drive. Designed for workflow flexibility, it allows users to have one work drive, and one backup or transfer drive. - The GT 062 allows for two hot-swappable GT Key drives in one tabletop enclosure allowing users to easily move files from one hot-swap drive to another. To round off the additions to the GT-Series, Glyph developed the GT 060BR, a FireWire 800, hardware RAID 0 solution with two drives. With the same footprint as the GT 060, the GT 060BR is designed to be a backup and storage drive with blazing fast FireWire 800 speed to cater for the High-Performance Digital video and Pre-press market or simply for uses that need mass reliable, portable storage. With no configuration software needed, and capacities of up to 800GB, the GT 060BR appears to your computer via the Firewire port as one huge drive. GT Series solutions are distinguished by features engineered to provide the highest level of reliability. Glyph’s enhancements to existing FireWire standards, Integrity™, ensure reliability at the FireWire hot-swap interface. The GT06x additions to the GT Series use the same technology as the exiting range including; internal frames are constructed with QuietMetal™ a tri-laminate metal to reduce drive vibration, increase reliability, performance and protect recordings from unwanted acoustical noise; Internal AC powers supply's with auto-voltage switching; Single and Dual Whisper Quiet Fan configurations with ample inlet ventilation for the most demanding of uses and environments. Glyph employs Seagate hard drives exclusively in its storage products available in 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, 200GB, 250GB, 300GB and 400GB - 7200 RPM drives, and all of the GT Series tabletops are rack-mountable with an optional rack-mount kit. The Glyph GT-Series have a standard with a three year warranty and Glyph’s legendary service and technical support, at no additional charge. Additionally, it will be covered by an overnight advance replacement policy in the first year. Advance Replacement doesn't cover custom units such as GT308's.
