Glyph Introduces the GT Series for Professional Audio and Video production

Ithaca, NY – (August 28, 2003) Glyph Technologies announces its GT Series of FireWire-based storage subsystems, featuring a hot-swappable FireWire hard drive that is compatible across the line. The GT Series sets a new standard for reliability in hot-swap FireWire storage and was developed in direct response to the need for content portability.

Phil French, Director of Sales, commented, “Glyph’s ability to design forerunning storage solutions is the result of listening to our customers.  In response to the needs of those who work with content for a living, Glyph has worked to expand the capabilities of storage.  As a result, the GT Series is scalable and cross-functional with professional features we engineered for high-performance.”

Cross-functional and expandable, the GT Series offers both tabletop and rack-mount solutions in durable eye-catching stainless steel. The series includes the GT 050 fixed-mount tabletop, the GT 051 hot-swap tabletop, the GT 103 single-space three bay enclosure, and the GT 308 three-space eight bay enclosure. The GT Key hard drive works across all the enclosures and is available in 80GB, 120GB, 160GB and 200GB capacities.

GT Series features demonstrate Glyph’s commitment to high-performance and reliability for professionals. Integrity™, Glyph’s enhancements to existing FireWire standards, ensures the highest reliability at the hot-swap interface. And, inner-frames constructed of a composite metal technology, QuietMetal™, protect recordings from unwanted noise.

Peter Glanville, Director of Marketing, stated, “Glyph continues to lead in the design of audio and video storage subsystems because of an engineering focus to design solutions the right way. We understand content creation is a livelihood—Glyph’s GT Series and other solutions are engineered with plenty of headroom to reliably support the demands of intense production environments. Simply put, our solutions are designed to work.”David Sanborn’s Chief Sound Engineer, Dean Sharenow, commented, "The GT 308 provides a truly outrageous amount of storage in a 3-space unit. We can take both FireWire and SCSI drives between studios and back everything up in one tidy package." Backed by Glyph’s legendary service and technical support, GT Series enclosures are covered by warranty for three years. Hard drives come standard with overnight advance replacement in the first year. The GT Series is available through authorized Glyph Dealers, please check Glyph’s website for details.
