Glyph's JK2002 SCSI RAID Array Qualified for Pinnacle Systems' CineWave

Ithaca, NY - Glyph Technologies is happy to announce that their JK2002™ storage subsystem for digital content creation is now qualified by Pinnacle Systems for use with CineWave standard definition, standard definition real-time (RT) and high definition (HD) systems when used with Maxstor Atlas 10K-III drives. The JK2002 is a custom configured RAID subsystem with 14 Ultra 160 SCSI drives striped together in a triple-spaced, 19-inch rack mountable unit. Sustaining data rates of 200MB/sec, it supports standard definition and high definition uncompressed video.

"Bandwidth and quick read and write times are extremely important for uncompressed high definition and real-time standard definition editing with multiple layers and effects," says Andrew Baum, Pinnacle Systems Senior Product Manager, CineWave. "Glyph has engineered a storage subsystem that meets the demanding storage requirements of CineWave."

Not only is this a very fast RAID system, the JK2002 also features high reliability through the use of hot-swappable drives and fully redundant power supplies and cooling components. Advanced engineering is used to dampen disk vibration, reduce noise and ensure high data integrity. The system uses a dual channel bus architecture with all drives plugging into an SCA backplane. Available as either a deskside or rackmount unit, the JK2002 can be configured with capacities ranging from 36 gigabytes to 1 terabyte specifically to match your needs. This storage system is fully optimized for video production with a RAID 0 striped array, and is compatible with all major video formats. Glyph includes RAID striping software for Macintosh as well as Ultra 160 SCSI cards and cables to make the JK2002 a truly turnkey solution for high-end video production.

"We are excited to be working with Pinnacle Systems and to be qualified for meeting the demanding storage requirements of CineWave. Pinnacle Systems has a reputation as an outstanding manufacturer of high performance products, so it's wonderful to be a part of their solutions," states Larry Berger, Glyph's VP of Marketing.
