Ithaca, NY - (January 9, 2001) - Today Glyph unveiled its new, entry level SAN (Storage Area Network) solution enabling two users to unleash a myriad of content creation applications. Dubbed the Coba SE, the new solution uses components from Glyph's successful Coba/SAN product line and can be fully upgraded to the larger Coba/SAN system. The Coba SE offers all the benefits of the larger SAN systems including high speed performance, security, centralized storage and productivity gains. Coba SE is two seat (two user) system that enables sound engineers, video editors, graphics artists, web designers and other content creation professionals to interface workstations in a high speed, Fibre-Channel network with data throughput at 100Mb/sec. This incredible high performance design allows for creative collaboration, data sharing, centralized data control and backup. The Coba SE works with two Macintosh G3 or G4 computers and connect the workstations via fiber optic cabling to a Glyph Trip FC rack mounted storage system with capacities from 72 to 290Gb. Optical cabling can run as far as 500 meters from workstation to storage and the Coba SE is scalable up to 127 devices. The unique Fibre-Channel Coba SE architecture provides an unquestionable performance and cable length advantage over other storage network solutions including FireWire and ethernet. Coba SE comes complete with Glyph's industry leading service with additional service plans available including on site support. Standard support includes overnight advance replacement of key components in the first year of warranty. Like all Glyph products, Coba SE is backed by Glyph's Herculean service and crushing technical support. Coba SE was developed for target digital media applications including Digidesign Pro Tools, Apple Final Cut Pro, Media 100, Adobe Photoshop in addition to web design applications. "Coba SE is an excellent way for a workgroup to get all the performance and benefits of a large scale SAN without the sticker shock and implementation issues involved in a larger, many seat solution," said Steve Gorney, CEO of Glyph Technologies "And Coba SE is easily upgradable to the larger SAN system when the growth and need require it."
