ATTO Technology Now Shipping Industry’s First 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel-to-SCSI Bridge

Bridge offers compatibility with Ultra320 SCSI protocol

Amherst, NY (April 13, 2005) - ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, announced today that it has begun shipping its ATTO FibreBridge™ 2400C/R/D, making it the first 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel-to-SCSI bridge available on the market. The latest in the company’s innovative line of bridging products, the ATTO FibreBridge 2400 is designed to integrate SCSI devices into a Fibre Channel network.
The ATTO FibreBridge 2400 features two 4-Gb Fibre Channel host interface ports and two Ultra320 two independent Ultra320 SCSI interfaces, and is the first Fibre Channel bridge to offer compatibility with the Ultra320 SCSI protocol. Combining performance, versatility and affordability, the FibreBridge 2400 provides high speed, cutting edge 4-Gb FC SAN connectivity for current and next generation SCSI-based storage solutions.

The ATTO FibreBridge 2400 includes these features:
• ExpressNAV™– web-based GUI that allows customers to manage their equipment from anywhere. This integrated management console eases configuration, upgrades, monitoring and management.
• SpeedWrite – exclusive performance-enhancing capability that lets users achieve faster backups and higher throughput.
• intelligent Bridging Architecture™ – unique combination of features that gives Original Equipment Manufacturers and System Integrators the ability to embed customized value into their product.
• Real-time Event Log – battery-backed event log records more than 2,000 events for up to 30 days, giving customers the ability to decipher and debug errors while providing power failure protection.
• Embeddable 4U compact-PCI and desktop 1U form factors – lets users select the optimal form factor for their needs.

"Being first to market with a bridge featuring 4-Gb Fibre Channel demonstrates ATTO’s commitment to deliver cutting edge solutions for the changing and growing needs of today’s networked storage environments," states Sherri Robinson, director of markets for ATTO Technology, Inc. "IT managers can now create networks of consolidated storage assets with the highest levels of performance, security, and reliability without sacrificing scalability."

The 4-Gb/sec. Fibre Channel standard is emerging as the dominant SAN technology for next-generation disk and tape storage systems. A major advantage of 4-Gb Fibre Channel is that it ensures backward compatibility, enabling users to preserve their 2-Gb and 1-Gb Fibre Channel investments.
