ATTO Technology Delivers Next Generation 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel Solutions
ATTO accelerates its role as an industry leader in storage-infrastructure solutions

Amherst, NY – April 5, 2004 - ATTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, announced today, plans to add 4-Gigabit Fibre Channel technology to its Celerity Fibre Channel Storage Adapter line and FibreBridge™ Fibre Channel-to-SCSI bridge line. This marks ATTO’s entry into the next generation of Fibre Channel Storage Area Networks (SANs).

Within the next year, the 4-Gig/sec. Fibre Channel standard is expected to emerge as the dominant SAN technology for next-generation disk and tape storage systems. Four-gigabit Fibre Channel is highly cost effective and ensures backward compatibility, enabling users to preserve their 2-Gigabit and 1-Gigabit Fibre Channel investments.

The ATTO 4-Gigabit line of Fibre Channel-to-SCSI bridges is the latest in ATTO’s “anything-to-anything” line of bridging products. The ATTO FibreBridge 4-Gigabit products will be available in an embeddable 4U compact-PCI form factor and are designed to handle the fastest tape drives including LTO-3 and SDLT600. Also available in 1U rack-mountable versions, the 4-Gigabit FibreBridge line is an ideal solution for retrofitting large legacy SCSI disk arrays with new Fibre Channel interfaces.

The 4-Gigabit line of Celerity Fibre Channel Storage Adapters will map into the existing single-, dual-, and quad-channel adapters. With twice the speed and aggressively priced as previous generation adapters, the Celerity 4-Gigabit FC Storage adapter line will offer a combination of intelligence, performance, connectivity and price that will open new markets for Fibre Channel connectivity. Featuring ATTO’s unique Advanced Data Streaming (ADS™) Technology, Celerity FC storage adapters enable users to achieve the ultimate in I/O performance. With a combination of features that provides controlled acceleration of large and small blocks of data, ADS provides faster, smoother and more efficient transfer of data for streaming applications.
